Naive or Idealistic? Facebook Mission!

Below is the text of Mark Zuckerberg in the IPO filing.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/mark-zuckerberg%E2%80%99s-ipo-letter--why-facebook-exists.html

Zuckerberg seems to think that the floating of Facebook on the stock market will continue its social networking unimpeded by BIG BUSINESS and interests that may not be for the benefit of OMOTS.

I hope Zuckerberg's assertions in the letter come to pass as the reality of the market takes over after the IPO!

HDD believes that Facebook is a great way to track people in places where government power is almost dictatorial, although it has the capacity to organize people power to topple regimes in the short term.

Social consciousness is NOT the ultimate goal of business entities and as Facebook readies itself for public offering, this mission will most likely be THREATENED over time.

Zukerberg again:

"We hope to strengthen how people relate to each other.

Even if our mission sounds big, it starts small — with the relationship between two people.

Personal relationships are the fundamental unit of our society. Relationships are how we discover new ideas, understand our world and ultimately derive long-term happiness."

This all sounds like a wonderfully Disnified version of how the world works. Does Zuckerberg realize for example that one quarter of the world's population LIVE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY (about 1.6 billion).

Below a LINK to an INTERACTIVE MAP of the world updated to 2010.

And that 2/3 of the entire world population DON'T HAVE ANY ACCESS to the INTERNETT! (about 4.1 billion).

Does Zuckerberg and his buddies hope to impact these people with FACEBOOK?
