New Study --- Who Fights and Dies in War?
The link below is interesting reading for those DIRECTLY affected by war.
The study blows the myth of who is fighting and dying in Afghanistan out of the water. Primarily urban and suburban males from working class and middle class locations right across the US.
The PDF file is 46 pages long and details EXACTLY WHO IS FIGHTING and DYING ---
http://www.stonybrook.edu/workingclass/publications/afghan_casualties.shtml
From Oct 2001 to December 2010, the study counted 1446 fatalities and the October 2011 publication date marks ten years of war in Afghanistan.
The majority dying are under 30 years old and 68% of the dead had only a high school education.
Critically, 89% of those who died were white.
